Magnificent castle near Paris with 59 hectares of land

Architecture and construction period of the castle
The chateau was built by architect Jean Thiriot between 1616 and 1635, a student of Salomon de Brosse and Clement II Metezeau. The forged gate between two pavilions announces the castle in a spectacular way 300 meters away.

The brick building was built on a U-shaped plan with a large central structure flanked by two pavilions. The magnificent architecture features a rich decoration of carved mascarons and a large central portico with freestanding twin columns and Ionic capitals. On the park side, the facade was given a neoclassical design in the 18th century.
 

The magnificent ballroom 
Inside is the magnificent 150 m² ballroom, built between 1748 and 1750 for the "Marshal of Saxony" and decorated with stucco, false marble from the 18th and 19th centuries, fluted pilasters with Corinthian capitals, and monumental hunting trophies of deer and waterfowl.

Other rooms 
In the southern pavilion there is a magnificent salon with white and gold rocailles paneling, a dining room in the form of a rotunda with wood paneling of fluted pilaster capitals and numerals of the Gourgaud family under baronial paddocks. In the south wing there is a large glazed room and other rooms in Empire or Louis XVI style with marble bathrooms and dressing rooms on the upper floor.

The chateau park and gardens
The enclosed park with numerous centenary rows of trees, chestnut trees and beeches is of princely dimensions and has an almost 2 km long access avenue - the access road belongs to the municipality today. In the park there are numerous bridle paths, a rodeo, various decorative elements such as marble vases, various springs, fountains and pools, as well as several access gates. The 1.8-hectare vegetable garden with greenhouse and fountain is entered through beautiful lattice gates and is surrounded by a high wall.

There are numerous outbuildings throughout the property, including various garages, stables and barns.

The property is connected to the municipal water supply, but not yet to the local sewerage system. Almost the entire estate, including all forest and green areas, is classified as a historical monument and protected accordingly.
