Manor in Heiligenstedten
Schloßstraße, 25524 Heiligenstedten
Schloss Heiligenstedten is a neogothic styled countryhouse / manorhouse in Schleswig-Holstein in the north of Hamburg.
After the second world war it housed an accommodation for refugees and later until the end of the 1980s a retirement home.
Then the land of Schleswig-Holstein as the owner sold the estate including two gatehouses and a large riding hall to a private investor, who started an extensive redevelopment. The planned touristic use as a hotel failed, thus the historic building falled into a deep sleep.
Finally in 2016 Heiligenstedten was taken by a collection agency. The castle was split up into luxury apartments. Despite of the long vacancy the manor was in a good condition at that time.
