Manor House and Park Complex in Niemcza Municipality | Usable Area: 2,050 m² | Land Area: 4 hectares

A Renaissance manor house dating back to the late 16th and early 17th centuries, built on the site of an older defensive tower. The property has undergone multiple reconstructions and modernisations.

  • Construction: Built of stone and brick, rendered.
  • Layout: Rectangular floor plan, three storeys, with a converted attic and gable roofs.
  • Facade: Ten-axis design, partially altered window layout, flanked by two side projections. The facades feature pilasters in a grand order, cornices between storeys, and rusticated corners. Parts of the facade retain decorative sgraffito elements. The building is crowned by eight richly ornamented gables.
  • Windows: Set in stone and plaster frames.
  • Historical Features: Preserved pointed stone portal from the 15th century, a remnant of the original residential tower.
  • Interior: Two-winged layout with a centrally located hall. The ground floor retains barrel, cross, and segmental vaults, while the upper floors feature ceilings with coves and stucco decorations.

The manor is surrounded by a small landscaped park, which forms an integral part of the estate.

Historical Background

  • 1640–1647: The manor and adjacent farmstead were managed by the Dukes of Brzeg.
  • 1674–1685: Ownership passed to Heinrich von Zierotin.
  • 1696–1694: Due to the lack of heirs, the property reverted to ducal administration.
  • 18th Century: Ownership changed hands frequently (e.g., Edward von Golloway, the von Gallard family, Franz Weighard von Hoffmann, the von Tschirsky family), and parts of the manor were remodelled in Baroque style.
  • 1751: Karl Friedrich Pfeil from Przeczyna acquired Wilków.
  • 1842: Julius von Koschembar became the owner of the manor.
  • 1853–1927: The estate remained in the hands of the von Chappuis family, who carried out the last reconstruction.
  • Before World War II: The owner was Will Rodatz.
  • Post-war Period: The building housed a state breeding station.
