Villas on Lake Como: Villa Pessina
Villa Pessina, 22019 Tremezzo
Located on the Strada statale 340, just before the renowned Villa Carlotta on Lake Como, Villa Pessina stands out with its towering structure and architectural versatility against the backdrop of the mountains. Constructed in the early 1920s, the villa showcases a captivating blend of styles, incorporating elements from various neo-styles and Art Nouveau, with a touch of medieval aesthetics reminiscent of Italy's castles (castellos).
The resemblance to Villa La Gaeta, which was built around the same time, is unmistakable, especially when viewed from a distance. Although it has not been proven whether Gino Coppedè, the architect of Villa La Gaeta, was involved in the construction of Villa Pessina, both villas were indeed supervised by the same company.
As of 2022, the villa is currently rented out as a vacation property and guest house.
