Palace in Wola Chojnata

Wola Chojnata 59, Wola-Chojnata

The manor house in Wola Chojnata (Lodz Voivodeship) is a one-story, plastered brick building on a rectangular ground plan with two-story risalites and a developed attic. The decorative building features pilasters, balustrades and a portico with six Ionic columns.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the first owner was the Polish general Stanisław Wojczyński. Around 1860, the new owner Józef Wierzbicki gave it its current appearance in the Neo-Renaissance style. Henryk Marconi was probably involved in this reconstruction. Marconi was a sought-after architect at the time and designed numerous secular and sacred buildings as well as private residences in the Warsaw area.

After 1945, the building was converted into an elementary school, which existed until the end of the 1970s. After that, the mansion fell into disrepair and stood empty for 25 years. In 1995 it was bought by a private person and completely renovated over several years. Today it is operated as a hotel and restaurant.
