The manor in Łopuszna - also known as Tetmajer Manor - is located a few km north of the city of Zakopane in Lesser Poland małopolskie.
The manor from the end of the 18th century was owned by the namesake Przerwę-Tetmajer estate-owning family from 1824 to 1881. In the middle of the 19th century it was a central meeting place of various personalities of the time. The Polish writer Seweryn Goszczyński wrote his famous work Dziennik podróży do Tatrów ("Diary of a Tatra Journey") at Łopuszna Manor, the first work of its kind describing the special characteristics of the Tatra Mountains in terms of culture, architecture and nature.
Today, this beautiful country house is a branch of the Tatra Museum, a museum founded in 1889 in Zakopane, which is devoted mainly to the Zakopane style in a total of 11 historical localities. In addition to an ethnographic exhibition, the premises show typical living quarters of the Polish landed gentry in the 19th century.
