Manors in Pomerania: Choczewko (Dwór w Choczewie)
In the holiday region on the Polish Baltic Sea, about 700 palaces and manor houses still exist today. If one compares Pomerania's current cultural landscape with the situation of about 10 - 15 years ago, it is noticeable that in many places the times of long-term decay are over. Many small villageshave now reclaimed their local manor and, in particular, an unspoilt secluded location in the immediate vicinity of the Baltic Sea is more in demand than ever, even in a state in need of major renovation. And for houses such as the manor house in Cecenowo or Borkówko, a start has been made with a new roof. The Pałacyk Plus program introduced by the Polish government at the beginning of 2022, which aims to promote the refurbishment of Polish monuments through generous tax write-offs, should certainly lend an additional positive effect to this trend.
