Astronomical Observatory University of Warsaw

Aleje Ujazdowskie 4, Warszawa

Taking a closer look at the picture, one can guess what kind of building is shown on this picture: the historical observatory was built in the years 1820 to 1825 and since its foundation it was considered one of the most modern observatories in Europe. It is now part of the Faculty of Physics in Warsaw and is located in the Botanical Garden of the University at Aleje Ujazdowskie 4.

This building was also destroyed in 1944 and partially reconstructed from 1948 to 1949.
