Neoclassical Pavilion – The Music Pavilion of Madame du Barry in Louveciennes

A retreat for King Louis XV and his renowned mistress, Madame du Barry: This magnificent pavilion was designed as an exclusive venue for celebrations, music, and leisure in a secluded and idyllic setting. Its monumental architecture lends it an extraordinary presence, unusual for a pleasure pavilion of its kind.

Shaped like an ancient temple with a near-square layout, the pavilion offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Seine, Paris, and the western outskirts of the city—an outlook admired since the 18th century.

Historical Significance

Madame du Barry, celebrated for her exceptional beauty, was the last mistress of Louis XV. The king frequently visited her in Louveciennes, where this pavilion served as a private sanctuary.
