Architecture sights in Lublin: Kozłówka Castle
The castle and park complex in Kozłówka is one of the most important sights in Lublin. The Baroque ensemble dates from the first half of the 18th century. The leading builder was the Italian-Polish architect Józef Fontana (II), who, among other things, also carried out the reconstruction of the Potocki Palace in the Krakow suburb in Warsaw. The client was Michał Bieliński, at that time (1738) voivode of Chełmno. After that, the palace belonged to the Polish magnate family Zamoyski for almost 150 years, which is why it is commonly known in Poland today asPałac Zamoyskich. Today's splendid appearance, which combines various neo-styles of historicism, is the result of extensive construction work in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Since the end of the Second World War, the castle and park have been owned by the state. The museum, which has existed since the 1970s, attaches great importance to authenticity and shows original reconstructed interiors with remaining art treasures and numerous exhibits.
In the immediate neighborhood you can find the Sanguszków-Palace in Lubartów.
