Your own four walls with almost forty rooms and plenty of style: the Preußlitz manor house makes this dream home possible. Not only does it have high ceilings, chandeliers and its own ballroom, but also over a hectare of land, divided between a castle park and a neighboring building plot.

A house of a century in neo-baroque style

Although the bright yellow Preußlitz manor house was only built in its current form almost one hundred and twenty years ago, its history goes back at least as far as the 17th century. Once founded as a manor, the estate, owned by the noble von Hagen family, has shaped the economic and political fortunes of the Salzland district for centuries.

And the fact that this manor house not only survived two world wars, but also underwent a fivefold change of system somewhere between the German Empire, the GDR and the Federal Republic, makes you wish the walls could speak. Then they would tell of the lavish parties of the 1920s or conversations that took place here in the bug-proof men's room. But they don't. And that is why life behind the wrought-iron entrance gate to the castle park is quieter and more secluded than ever before.

Old walls, new electricity

It is part of the charm of a manor house that the past is omnipresent. After all, it is not only expressed in stories and anecdotes, but also in the craftsmanship of the countless wood and stucco works. However, a decisive factor for the continued existence of historic properties is also to look to the future and make the buildings technically fit for the future.

Although the signs of the times cannot be overlooked in the Preußlitz manor house, it has already been partially renovated with foresight in the recent past. New water and electricity pipes already run through the historic walls. The windows have been double-glazed for 15 years and the entire roof has been renewed. There are even some modern bathrooms, while the working fireplaces will be particularly appreciated on cold winter evenings. Heating is also provided by an LNG heating system, which gives the ensemble a little self-sufficiency thanks to the storage option.
