Architect August Rathsagg sought inspiration and ideas from the most significant architect of the Italian Late Renaissance, Andrea Palladio, for the "Villa Hirsch" around 1860. The "Villa Hirsch," completed in 1862 as the crowning achievement of the unique construction known as the "Perlenkette" (string of pearls), impresses with its entire architecture, beautiful loggia with cast-iron canopy, and rich decorations. Each apartment has a high-quality fitted kitchen, underfloor heating, and muntin windows made of selected wood with heat-insulating glazing. Fences, access control, and discreet video surveillance secure the entire ensemble (gated community).

 

"Villa Hirsch" is situated in the first row of the historical building ensemble in Heiligendamm - Germany's first seaside resort - close to the beach and in close proximity to the "Grand Hotel Heiligendamm." It takes approximately two and a half hours by car from Berlin via the A 19 and only two hours from Hamburg on the A 20. Hannover is approximately three and a half hours away. From Rostock Airport in Laage, Heiligendamm can be reached in just under three-quarters of an hour.

 

The boarding house "Villa Hirsch" is listed as a historical monument in the monument list of Bad Doberan. At the same time, it is part of the heritage area of Heiligendamm. Due to the rarity of its architecture and the preserved original exterior structure, it holds significant evidence for the architectural history of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. After purchasing an apartment in this boarding house, buyers have the opportunity for increased depreciation of renovation costs under the "Denkmal-AfA" (monumental depreciation).
