Unique Historic Property Near Prague: Renaissance Fortress in Třebotov.
This meticulously restored Renaissance fortress, featuring a four-winged structure with arcades and a picturesque inner courtyard, spans centuries of history, encompassing elements of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Its origins trace back to the early Middle Ages, situated at the site of the original settlement first mentioned in writing in 996.
Authentically Restored Renaissance Splendor
The extensive renovation commenced in 2000 and was completed in 2003, returning the property to its authentic Renaissance glory. During this process, all historically significant details and architectural elements from earlier eras and renovations were carefully preserved, including the original coverings of openings, a fragment of an early medieval vault, and the authentic vaulted ceilings.
On the first floor of the right wing there is an entrance hall, a wellness area with a 12x4 m indoor swimming pool with counter-current system, sauna and fitness facilities, a room for the technical equipment of the whole building and a storage room with washing and drying room. In the opposite first floor wing there is a separate entrance from the courtyard to a large presentation or exhibition room, which can also be used as a ballroom or café, as well as public toilets. This part can eventually be converted into a separate apartment with bathroom and kitchen, which has a separate entrance.
On the second floor there is a main dining room, a kitchen with preserved elements of the black kitchen (bread oven and smokehouse), an office (building control center, CCTV, Internet), 5 bedrooms with separate bathrooms, a living room, a smaller room with bathroom, a separate large suite with anteroom and bathroom in the historical style, and other traditional dressing rooms in Gothic vaults. The restored, consecrated chapel of St. John of Nepomuk with attributes for spiritual purposes and functional harmonium is an absolute specialty. All these rooms are connected by a passage in the courtyard.
Enchanting Park-Like Grounds
The fortress, set on an approximately 8,000-square-meter plot, featuring sections of park, meadow, and woodland, is surrounded by a grand park-like garden adorned with ancient trees and enhanced by water features, including stone replicas of Baroque statues. The pond is fed by a stream flowing along the stone wall.
Romanesque Wine Cellar and Modern Amenities
The extensive underground Romanesque vaulted cellar houses a wine bar for 40 people, equipped with solid oak furniture and a fireplace. There is also a professionally equipped kitchen with air conditioning and arched serving windows. An adjacent wine cellar with metal wine crates completes this wine connoisseur's haven.
A Place of Comfort and Luxury
The property offers a total of 26 beds in rooms and suites ranging from 42 to 135 square meters, with the possibility of additional beds. The interiors are predominantly furnished with historical furniture and paintings. It has its sewage treatment system with overflow into a highly efficient creek and is connected to the municipal water supply. Furthermore, it has its own well for garden irrigation and recently installed electricity, gas, and internet connections. Two fully automated gas boilers supply the various areas of the property and heat the pool.
Recreational Facilities and Security
The fortress provides a tennis court with night lighting, a squash court with sanitary facilities and changing rooms, as well as a children's playground in the lower garden area. The upper section includes a garage for two to three cars and a shed for additional vehicles or garden equipment. Above the garage, a caretaker's apartment can be arranged. The entire property is protected by an original stone wall and a security and CCTV system. A comfortable enclosure with a space for four-legged guards is also part of the estate.
