Villa Gina is an exquisite historic villa built in 1766 by an aristocratic Austrian family and named after its owner, Gina. In the 20th century, it belonged to the family of the famous Italian artist Baldassare Longoni, whose paintings still adorn the villa. The main street of the town is named after him.
In 2011, Villa Gina underwent a complete renovation by the current owners. Precious details include stucco work, handmade floor tiles, frescoed walls, hand-made wallpaper, silk fabrics, and marble. The villa is adorned with authentic works of art, including paintings by Italian artists, silk tapestries, antique furniture, and Murano glass chandeliers.
ARCHITECTURAL SPLENDOR
The villa is set on 3 floors plus a garden floor, featuring large windows that provide a unique view of the lake and mountains. The ground floor comprises an impressive entrance hall, an elegant living room with a fireplace and access to a magnificent 30 sqm terrace overlooking Lake Como, a second living room with access to a spacious terrace, a kitchen with a breakfast area and an antique fireplace, along with a bathroom equipped with a shower. The second and third floors accommodate 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dressing room, a winter garden with huge windows, and a spacious terrace offering spectacular views. The garden floor includes laundry facilities, storage and utility rooms, as well as a greenhouse.
Villa Gina is surrounded by a lush and charming garden of approximately 2,000 sqm, adorned with rare century-old trees, abundant flowering plants, two antique fountains, and sculptures dating back to the 18th century.
