  • Vegetable Garden: A productive, one-hectare vegetable garden.

Historical Significance:

This magnificent château complex was built on the foundations of a medieval fortress that was destroyed during the Hundred Years’ War by the Earl of Salisbury. In the 15th century, the castle was rebuilt, and much of the medieval structure, including the Donjon and the Saint-François Tower, remains.

In the 19th century, the medieval castle was integrated into the existing estate, with portions of the original moats filled in to connect it with the newer sections of the château.

The majority of the buildings that make up the current château complex date from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. The first pavilion, which forms the Porte building, was constructed at the end of the 16th century and extended in the 17th century with two smaller pavilions. The ensemble was later raised by an additional floor in the 18th century, and the Portes building was transformed into a large office space, giving it the contemporary form it retains today.
