Castle in the Abruzzo region

In the heart of the Abruzzo region, just a short distance from Rome and Naples, this exceptional medieval castle ("Castello") is now for sale. 

The castle was built on the foundations of an ancient 13th-century military fortress and has changed feudal hands multiple times over the centuries.

The interiors, partly refined by restoration work carried out in the 1930s, have preserved their original appearance from the Gothic and Renaissance periods. The grand Renaissance-style courtyard is the perfect setting for receptions and al fresco dining. The large swimming pool, open to the valley below, adds an extra touch of magic and charm. Inside, numerous notable architectural features can be found: the castellated merlons, the five corner towers, the inner courtyard, the loggia with four arches, and the single-nave private chapel for services and weddings.
